Volkswagen: Touareg - Photos

I test drove one of these yesterday with my wife. I've been reading up on them and they are feature packed. This thing is ready for light off-roading + it can carry 7000lbs. Quite practical for me, I would say. =)

I really like the handling and the feel. It might be me, but German cars have a particular "feel" that most other's don't have. They just seem more solid.

My wife really liked it too. I'm not too excited about the 35k price but it wouldn't matter if I don't buy it =)

Actually I'm thinking about it but I want a few more things in place before making the leap.

KSEE 24 WeatherLab OnLine

KSEE 24 WeatherLab OnLine: "Jason Laney's Weather Watch:
I just love the way rain smells. Maybe it jogs a positive memory from childhood. Or maybe it is just inherent in all of us. We certainly have had a chance to smell the rain the past few days, even if it hasn’t really rained just yet. Most people simply say that the smell of rain is dust settling out of the air. In all actuality, what we smell is a mixture of increased moisture in the air and essential oils that are secreted from the leaves of plants."

I did not know that.

lunanegra raffle 2003

lunanegra raffle 2003: "Guitarist Ottmar Liebert is raffling off the guitar he used to record his double platinum selling debut album Nouveau Flamenco in 1989. The guitar, made in Spain by Burguet is a classical model with a spruce top and will be accompanied by a notarized letter of authenticity (and some photos if we can find any...) "

WOW!...count me in!

In the past I've used Priceline to book hotels. I've been pleased with the service. A co-worker told me about this site. He used it to pin point hotel prices for one of his trips.

Corporate Entanglement.....

Ottmar Liebert: "I was looking to maybe record a few christmas songs to give away as christmas presents this year....but I found out that even though 'Deck the Halls' for example is a song in the Public Domain, I may not record it for a while because I recorded a version for Epic three years ago and my contract does not allow me to re-record any composition I have previously recorded for a certain amount of years. That means even if I was to work on a completely different instrumentation and arrangement I won't be able to do it...warning to you young musicians: once entangled it will take many years to remove the last strings...Note: I am not whining about this, merely talking about it...I signed those contracts and I am responsible..."

I am pro capitalism...but sometimes it has adverse effects on great things like art. Another may be life itself. One becomes totally ingrossed with making a buck...sell, sell, sell...rags to riches. Whatever happened to just living...tasting...smelling...enjoying friends and family...where's the spirit in capitalism?
